It's a Glimmer of hope when your time seems otherwise wasted

To be honest, I didn’t have a particularly exciting, or even mildly interesting weekend.  Anne was out of town with our daughter who competed in two national cheerleading championships (and won both of them!).  The weather on Saturday was beautiful, but I was outside doing chores all day long.  And Sunday it rained cats and dogs.

And basically, I didn’t do anything fun at all.  Instead I caught up on LOADS of household things on my “to do” list, like putting down round-up for the weeds that are coming up on my pavers… moving around a bunch of old stuff we need to get rid of, in the garage… and catching up on some business work I’ve been avoiding, as well.

But yesterday while I was in the gym (I did an hour of cardio on the machines), I was listening to some self-help stuff, and in the midst of my pretty uninspiring weekend, I picked up something that was very valuable.

Essentially, when you’re trying to think of something positive, often times, especially if you’re down and out or feeling blue or whatever… it’s difficult to do.  But the truth is, even though it’s easy to think about what’s wrong in your life, it’s actually just as easy to think about what’s right.

That’s because what’s wrong is always available to you, but… so is what’s right.  And the ball is 100% in your court over which memories you want to retrieve.  Which thoughts you want to torture yourself with, or smile over.  Which aspects of your life you want to think about – the good ones or the not-so-good ones.

Either way, it’s up to you, and that’s a very empowering thought, that it’s your choice.
