Dear Friend,

If you’re reading this and you’re thinking about booking a day of consulting with me — either in person, here in Tampa… or broken down into separate appointments on Skype — then here’s what you need to know.

Typically, the first half of your day is “diagnostic” in nature.  It’s kind of like when you go to the doctor for the first time.  He’s going to ask you things like, “What kinds of food do you eat?”  “Do you exercise?  If so, how often?”  “How long have you been in pain?”  “When did it start?” “Are your parents alive? If so, how old are they?  If not, how old were they when they died, and how did it happen?”  Yadda, yadda, yadda, you know the drill.

And just like your doctor, I’m going to ask you a bunch of diagnostic questions and then run your data through my brain, early on.  I want to see exactly what “condition” you’re in, right now, and how you got there.

What’s working and what’s not?  Who do you sell to and why?  How do they buy and what do they want?  What are you happy with and what would you like to change?

Where do you want to go, how much money do you want to make, and how soon? How much is an average customer worth to you and how can we increase that amount?

You see where I’m going with all this, right?

O.K., good, because the second half of the day is more “prescriptive” in nature.  During the second half of the day, I’m going to specifically identify your problems, and then “prescribe” LOADS of fixin’s for them.  In some cases I will immediately relieve any pain you’re currently experiencing right there and then.  And still in other situations, I’ll send you home with loads of specific cures that’ll make your business STRONG, HEALTHY, and MORE successful. Not just today, but ongoing in a continuity basis.

  • I’ll identify specific blind spots and weaknesses you’re not taking advantage of, that are costing you LOADS of money, even right now as we’re speaking.  Fixing these problems generally results in an immediate cash-flow surge.  Remember, you can’t see what you can’t see and you don’t know what you don’t know.
  • Pinpoint what is working, and show you how to get even more money out of your current system, and how to attract more of the kinds of high-paying customers and clients you want.  Get paid more, and get paid more often!
  • We’ll talk about the right way… and the wrong way… to push your prospects emotional buy-buttons!  I’ll also look at your sales copy and tell you how to improve it, and tie it into a new overall marketing strategy to put in place, that gets you the leads you want, and eliminates the ones you don’t want.
  • Determine the most effective marketing strategy that’s going to get you the clients you want to work with, and then show you how to set it up as a system that’s consistent and predictable.  Typically, this involves showing you how to implement a 2-step lead generation system that attracts pre-qualified clients who are eager and excited about working with you.  Stop dealing with looky-loos and tire-kickers and start dealing with PWM, “Players With Money.”
  • Implement a detailed plan that improves your positioning with prospects and clients.  This allows you to charge a lot more money, and creates more free time.  This way you’re spending time doing those things that are most productive, and you stop doing all the menial and trying tasks that wind up draining you and sapping your energy and enthusiasm.
  • Develop a productive continuity or “repeat buying system” — and a back-end that allows and encourages your existing customers to buy more, and to buy more often from you. One of the biggest problems with most businesses, is that they neglect their existing customer or client base.  This is leaving loads of almost “free money” on the table.  Free, in the sense that you don’t have to go out and pay to acquire this customer or client, since you’ve already sold something to them.  I’m an expert in this area, and frankly it’s one of the things that allowed me to make just north of $578,000 with a small e-mail list of less than 5,000 names, and all at 90% profit. Which is what I discuss inside my manual, “How To Make Maximum Money With Minimum Customers.”
  • Help you overcome mindset issues that may be holding you back and inadvertantly sabotaging your success.  Look, I’ve been through my own share of obstacles as well: I grew up in an abusive home, had drug problems as a kid, got divorced at a young age, had a painful and gut-wrenching custody fight for my sons, and went through bankruptcy.  You name it, I’ve gone through it.  I’ve even been fat!  I’ve had more negative programming shoved down my throat than most people, yet through hard work and a committment to myself, I’ve very successfully overcome all of it.  (Frankly, you simply can’t achieve your full potential until you do this.  Otherwise, all of this is like a big black cloud that’s always hanging over you.)  I’ll be happy to share a few pointers from my own experience, that might not only help you, but might, in fact, be the one or two things you need to hear, that lets you make the “big shift” you so desperately want.Hey, isn’t it time you’re free of this stuff?  Remember, your past really has nothing to do with your future — unless you want it to.
  • Identify specific ways you’re wasting your time.  Believe me, no one’s more protecive of their time than I am, and although I love having fun, I am DEAD SERIOUS when it comes to making money!  At this point in time, I only do THREE things.  I write… I consult… and I think up and implement new marketing ideas for myself and for my clients.  That’s it.  There isn’t a snowball’s chance in hell I’m going to post a flash video to my site, or modify my blog.   Not in this lifetime, anyway.  When it comes to business, I’m all about making maximum money, and you can’t make maximum money if you’re sitting there licking postage stamps and answering your e-mails.  I’ll get you sorted out here, immediately.
  • You’ll also walk out of here with a step-by-step “to-do” list, so you’ll know where to start and so you can get everything done.  And most important — so you can hold yourself accountable as well.

One.  You walk out of here with a TON of great ideas.  If you then want to hire me to work on any kind of copywriting projects related to these ideas, I will credit 100% of your investment in your consulting day, towards your copywriting project.  So in effect, you wound up having a FREE day of consulting.  And by-the-way, if this is what you’re planning on, please let Anne know ahead of time when you book your day.  Because in this case, there is a significant amout of additional information-gathering I need to do, during your consulting day.

Please appreciate, however, I only take on one or two copywriting clients a year. This is NOT any kind of a scarcity ploy or take-away.  The simple truth is, with rare exception, working on my own projects is more profitable, than working on projects for clients.

Think about it, if you can write great copy and you’re a sharp strategist… why wouldn’t you work on your own business first?  Who wants to work on someone else’s business if they don’t have to?

Well, I have set up my business, and my life, so that I don’t have to.

Right now I own several businesses.  My main business has three legs (publishing, consulting, and copywriting)… and my other businesses are niche publishing businesses.  My roles there are strategy, copywriting, and publishing.

So as you can see, the last thing I want (or need) is more work or copywriting clients.  This is simply the truth, and the way I’ve purposely structured my business.  It’s also why I charge a small fortune for clients who do want to hire me. Since it interrupts my current work, someone has to pay for that interruption.

Two.  Same thing as number one, except in this case, you come for consulting only, with no intention of having me work on your sales copy.  That’s completely fine, and frankly, it’s what most people do.  Rest assured, I have no interest in trying to convince you to hire me.

Three.  You’re completely disappointed with the day we spent together.  In this case, I give you your check back, and you go on your merry way.  This isn’t very likely to happen since I pre-qualify everyone before they come here, and because I have the work ethic of a field mule.  You won’t find many people, if any, who can keep up with my work ethic, or my energy level.  However, this guarantee stands, in case you’re concerned.

Follow-up e-mail from Brian: “So… The postcards you did for me didn’t exactly pull a 1% response rate as I expected!

When I sent out 698 postcards the first week I was anxious as to the response.   Well I got 298 responses to my postcard and was floored! If I am doing the math correctly that’s over a 40% response to just the FIRST postcard. (Note: Actually, it’s a 42.7% response, but who’s counting? And I shudder to think what the number will be after the second and third mailings!)
