iTunes, Google, and Life: 3 ‘quickies’

Lots of stuff I have to do today, so this’ll be brief.

Just wanted to let you know about a few cool things I recently saw.

For starters, if you’re a baby boomer, then you’ve no doubt stopped at the checkout counter in the grocery store on more than one occasion, to admire one of the covers on Life Magazine.

They’ve had some fantastic ones over the years, and if you like them, then check out this year-end website they’ve put together. It showcases some of their best covers, ever.

And, there are links to a ton of social and pop culture nostalgia on this page, as well.

Second, in some more year-end sign-offs…

Google’s put together a very nice, heart-warming sendoff to what was hot in 2012, right here.

And lastly, the thing that’s got me most excited, actually… and something I’ve been eagerly anticipating, is…

Google Maps for the iPhone is back! And apparently, it’s even better than before.

So if you’ve been suffering with the Apple Map app, and you’re sick and tired of getting directions from Chicago, when all you want to do is drive around the corner… then download the new Google app, now.
