Direct-Response Marketing True Story: Guess what was missing?

Digital sales of my book are now almost as high as actual hard copies on amazon.  (41, 5-star book ratings doesn’t hurt, either!)

Sunday, it was absolutely gorgeous out.

My wife and I went downtown to an open air festival here in Tampa, like we do on many Sundays in the fall.

It was a food festival, mostly.  And mostly healthy foods, which appeals to us.

A guy was there on one of the tables, trying to generate leads.  He had an idea that could bring him a TON of potential business.  But because he probably doesn’t know much about marketing… he will likely lose money on the promotion.

See, he ran a restaurant and he was giving out samples.

You’d walk over to him, he’d ask if you wanted to try some food.  If you said “Yes,” he’d give you the food.

And that was it.

The food was outstanding and the guy was very nice.

Unfortunately, as I said, this promotion will probably not yield too many customers.
