A whirlwind of activity is going on right now, and you don't even know it:

On any given day there are literally millions of things going on out there in the world we are completely clueless about.

Families being destroyed by senseless acts of violence… couples falling in love… and small children learning how to ride two-wheelers without training wheels.

It’s these unseen and seemingly meaningless experiences that make us who we are, though.  Because a life fully lived is one that contains joy as well as sorrow.

There are also little unsung moments though, that let you relax and clean out your soul, as well.

For instance, sipping coffee out back early in the morning before anyone else is awake… or reading a book late into the night long after the rest of your family is all asleep… and taking your dog for a long walk while enjoying your favorite cigar or while listening to your iPod.  These are the small moments we’re able to steal away for ourselves, that keep us going, and allow us to process and enjoy the rest of our crazy and hectic lives.

I’m not much for holidays or for big celebrations (Unless those celebrations are for me, of course.).  However, this fourth of July weekend, I’m going to try and steal away some time for myself, and some of these priceless moments, to decompress and relax and unwind.

Lord knows we can all use that, right?

So all I want to say to you today, is that I hope you get to do the same thing this weekend.  I hope you can find some time to reflect on what’s important to you, and appreciate the things that are meaningful… and eliminate those things that aren’t.

And by the way, when you’re trying to sell something — especially in print — the state of mind you’re in right now, is kind of the same state of mind you want your prospects to be in when you’re speaking to them.

See, being all worked up and on the defensive isn’t conducive to anything — especially to having someone give you their money.

But there again, that’s just one of those things we all need to decompress from, right?

Have fun.
