A VEIN Of Gold Wrapped Inside All This Controversy!

Dear Friend,

Seductive Selling Newsletter Subscribers - http://www.kingofcopy.com/ssnl - know I'm in the middle of a viral campaign that's likely to shoot up like a rocket-ship.  How do I know that?

Simple.  I recently drove a few people to the site, and here's a small sampling of the type of reactions I received:

"*ICK!!!!!* (I have stronger reactions, but won't say them)   Seriously. I couldn't stand reading much more than the first few sentences because it was so offensive.

Half your audience is going to be women. "Pimp" is someone who lives a lifestyle that treats us (women) as a "service" that can be slapped around, beaten, and abused. Pimps lead a lifestyle of luxury while the ones who work for them get almost nothing. It's common for pimps to encourage prostitutes to use drugs; another way of controling them.

The pimp lifestyle is a looser lifestyle. It's on the other side of the law, there's a lot of guns and violence involved, and most end up in jail or dead by the time they're 35.

So in a nutshell, you're implying that what you teach people will be how to be unethical, how to abuse the workers (downline) and use the workers (downline) to push product while hooking the workers (downline) so that they're dependant on you and getting a gang to take out your competition.

Oh yes, and that they'll be breaking a lot of laws. I can't think of any strong way to say that I reject the message and loathe what it stands for. I wish I could. The advertising concept is that much of a turn-off.

BTW, women aren't the only audience you'll find with a negative knee-jerk reaction. Born-Again Christian men will also reject it, as will those of a number of other religions. Men who are feminists won't find it appealing, and anyone who's had a family member or friend involved with a pimp will also find it a negative image. So... basically, you've lost a lot of potential audience."

Ohh... pretty severe, huh?

But there's more!  Here was another one:

"Yep. Use it to blow your nose and then flush it. This is beyond the Rich Jerk for offensive idiocy, and makes me think of William Hung, the American Idol wannabe who just couldn't sing. Are you 1000 monkeys didn't break into your place and type this while you were asleep?"

Good stuff, no?

I'll talk about what's really going on here in the next issue of Seductive Selling, and how to handle and prepare for this, but rest assured, reactions like this mean that inside whatever it is your doing, is a damn goldmine!

Here was the lone voice or sanity in all of the many acerbic reactions I got:

"WAKE UP people. This piece that Craig wrote is brilliant copywriting. Most of you are probably dreaming you could write such a compelling masterpiece. By YOUR reaction it shows he pushed all YOUR emotional buttons and seduced you into reading the entire thing. And you know what? That's exactly what this letter is meant to do."
