What I Didn't Tell You About That Last E-mail I Sent
Dear Friend,
You know how every mother is proud of her son, right? And you know how they say every wife is a bit of a "mother" to her husband?
Well, I'd be lying if I didn't tell you my wife was no exception to this rule, although I DO think most of her mothering really is done with our three kids.
So here's what happened: On Friday, after I mentioned how some marketing mental patient ripped me a new one because of my "cheesy sales letter", Anne came over to me, and just like a proud mom would tell one of her kids -- she said "Hey, why didn't you tell them the real punch line here?"
"What do you mean?"
"Why didn't you tell them how well that letter was doing?" she said.
And well, I guess I don't like to brag, but... at my better half's insistence, I'll tell you how that "cheesy" letter was doing, last time I checked. We'd sold 27 seats to a seminar, to a list that had never been pitched to attend a seminar before. All of the buyers took the "upgraded" seating option at $2,495... and the list had around 2,000 buyers on it. That's just south of $64,400 in sales in...
The First 7 Days!
But really, that's not what was important here. What's important is that you only take criticism from someone QUALIFIED to criticise you, and shrug off all the other "jealousy" that gets tossed your way in the FORM of criticism.
This is also why, one of the first things I do before I take on a project, is to spend some time with the person who wants me to work with him or her. If they are all queasy about "my kind of marketing" and if they feel their prospects and marketplace is "above" what I do -- then I politely decline working with them.
If, on the other hand, they KNOW what they've been doing is completely ineffective, and they're looking for a better way -- even and ESPECIALLY if that better way involves them getting out of their comfort zone -- in this case, I eagerly look forward to working with them.
Because the truth is, no matter who you are and no matter what you do or where you do it... there is NO growth... without... growing pains!
Right?
Hey, quickly -- I wanted you to know that over the last few weeks I've been forced to completely re-engineer my Maverick Mentoring and Coaching Programs, and I'll let you know when they are available for my non-newsletter subscribers to look at.
I DID want you to know though, that Seductive Selling System owners - http://www.kingofcopy.com/seductive - and Seductive Selling Newsletter Subscribers - http://www.kingofcopy.com/ssnl - will be receiving a ONE-TIME ONLY very sweet offer to get involved with my programs, when the newsletters are mailed out this Wednesday and Thursday. So if you've been on the edge of the fence, or even if you're curious about things, and you currently do NOT subscribe to my newsletter or if you don't already own The Seductive Selling System, then NOW is the time to order them and get involved. You will most certainly NOT get a second shot at this one.
Gotta run, but tomorrow I will let you know why I may be a mental patient waiting in the wings.
Now go sell something,
Craig Garber
