Change Guaranteed, Growth Optional

Dear Friend,

The other day we were talking about the loaf of bread-slicing machine in the bakery, and how that's the only thing I know of that really hasn't changed a lick, during the my lifetime.

Face the facts though: Change... is inevitable.  Now there are two kinds of change.  First there's the kind of change YOU create, in response to something inside of you that says "I want to so "some thing" differently..." or, "I want to see different results."

These changes are almost always done with optimism and excitement, even if there's a sense of anxiety involved.  You're looking for growth with these kinds of changes -- sometimes financial growth, and almost always personal growth.

Let met tell you an example of this I'm particularly proud of.  Over the last 18 months, my older son Nick, now 16, has made an incredible transformation in his life.

Nick, whose weight was spiraling out of control, and whose self-esteem was plummeting downward in the opposite direction, just as fast, one day decided he wanted to do something about this.  He came to me and asked, "Dad, if I eat like you will I lose weight?"

"Of course," I told him, not really giving it much thought.

Apparently though, Nick had been giving this a LOT of thought.  Fast-forward the clock ahead 18 months, and here's what happened.  Nick lost over 50 pounds... he works out in the gym 6 days a week... he's changed his lifestyle around totally, sleeping more, watching less TV, and eating a LOT less... he's joined the wrestling team... achieved his brown belt in Karate, and started working again -- like any smart 16 year-old he's focusing on saving up enough to buy a car.

I have no idea why or how this "spark of life" buried it's way into his soul, but I do know his self-esteem today is like night and day compared to what it used to be... and he's now, as my friend John DiLemme says "fired up and focused."

"Earning" something you didn't think you could earn, or... you didn't think you DESERVED, has a way of doing this to you, and usually the greater the price you pay, the more valuable your reward.

See, in this case, change was inevitable, and growth was intentional.

I've often seen the same thing happen to members of my mentoring group - http://www.kingofcopy.com/maverickmarketer - where you've had someone who's kind of "loafing along" and all of a sudden something fires them up and they sping into action and start taking the deliberate action steps they've been "meaning" to take all along.

This transformation is usually followed by a tremendous amount of personal and financial growth and development.

They usually say I was the one who "fired them up," and if so, that's great.  Reality is, everyone (including me) hears the message they need to hear, at the right time in their lives.  If I happen to be that messenger, then that's great.

But there's also another kind of change.  It's the change you are FORCED to deal with.  When this happens, you're faced with a choice of adapting to the change, which often means turning lemons into lemonade.  If you're the kind of person who wants to get "growth" as an end result of everything you do, then you'll turn a weakness into a strength, a challenge into a victory, and you'll wind up making that sweet lemonade.

A few months ago in The Seductive Selling Newsletter, I discussed some of this, referring to it as "connecting the dots."

The thing about connecting the dots is, you can't connect the dots moving forward.  Meaning, you're never going to be able to plan out what's going to happen "ahead of time."  All you can do is look back over your results AFTERwards, and see how each step you took led you to the next door in front of you, and how each new door you opened, led you to a few more new doors you never even new existed, to open again.

Like I said, change IS guaranteed, growth is optional.  You decide.

Chris Curry, from Gainesville, the youngest realtor in Florida to be included in the top ten most successful realtors in the state, for not one, but for several years running now, recently sent me this very thoughtful note: "Craig, I have spent over 800K over the past 8 years in training seminars pertaining to real estate, self help, NLP, you name it...  It's all been great, but sometimes you meet somebody that’s a breath of fresh air and it helps you put it all into perspective... That man is you “Craig Garber.”  Your Seductive Selling newsletter is the most informative newsletter I read every month and it causes me to think and get back to the basics.  So all I can say is the amount of money I invest to belong to your inside circle, is ultimately better then FREE, compared to all the other stuff I have reviewed in the past 8 years. Thanks for your time Craig."

But... there are ONLY FOUR DAYS LEFT to get your hands on the October Seductive Selling newsletter, to try it for FREE!  Check it out right here: http://www.kingofcopy.com/ssnl
