Dear Friend,

One of the biggest downfalls of a lot of entrepreneurs, is their stubborn refusal to keep in touch with their prospects.  This is a big problem, it's costly, and frankly, it's a stupid mistake.

The most common reason for doing this of course, is that it's a "pain in the ass."  That's the technical term, of course, for "laziness."

Today I got a note from my client and friend Jim Canale, from RealEstateRiches.com.  Jim, who did a GREAT interview on last month's Audio Success CD (actually it was TWO CD's), which you get when you subscribe to the Seductive Selling Newsletter - http://www.kingofcopy.com/ssnl - has a number of proprietary marketing systems, so I can't get into things in full detail, but he sent me a note earlier today that I thought was awesome:

"Craig, Sometimes the sales cycle is long...Really long ;-)"

And then Jim forwarded this message to me, from one of his students in the Philadelphia area:

"I have attended your free RER seminar on two occasions. The first time was Aug.2005 at the XXX. Jeff Rubin spoke that evening and I knew then and there that RER was for me. I Left the seminar very excited, knowing what I had to do next . So I did, the next day I made an appointment to meet with you.

I had some anxiety those few days before our meeting hoping for acceptance into your program, you see, I wanted you to say yes because I KNEW MY WIFE WOULD SAY NO.

I will tell you a bit about myself and our meeting, maybe you will remember me.

My name is XXX. I'm a XXX and I've always known there's an easier way.  In knowing this, I, over the years have purchased Infomercial realestate courses, attended and purchased "Get rich using forclosures and rent them to H.U.D. people" seminars.  A few years ago I lease/purchased cappuccino vending machines with very few contacts and little cooperation for placement.  Also the leasing company misrepresented their interest rate and I had to hire a lawyer to get me out of the lease.(OUCH!).

Nor do I want to forget the infomercial contribution I made to Don(?) Dupree on "How to make millions using the internet (and you don't even need a computer)".   Of course I was too poor to buy a computer.

I met with you Jim, I told you my story, you had a couple of chuckles then you asked some questions and advised me not to try the RER thing without my wife's support. I left the meeting knowing you were right but disappointed all the same.

This brings me to the attendance of my second RER free seminar same place, same time, March 2006 with my wife.  She did not want to go. She did not want to have a part in my "next scheme."  (SInce becoming a MBOM member I now know she has a negative and fearful relationship with money).  The bottom line is that she did attend but unfortunately did so with a chip on her shoulder.

After a few discussions this summer about our finances, lack of cash flow, an under funded retirement plan, my attitude towards having an employer, my wife told me to go to school and get an education. So, there I have it after one year my wife's support.

Yes , I'm still very excited and want to get started so my question for you: Is it necessary for me to attend another free seminar or can we go to step two?"

Now there are a lot of issues here we can talk about, like spousal encouragement and things like that.

But let's get something straight: this prospect started in August 2005, it's now September 2006, and the prospect's ready to make a move.  This will be close to a five-figure ticket for Jim, so it's been a worth-while wait, hasn't it?

So, do you now think it makes sense to follow-up?

The answer my friend, is blowing in the wind.

Now go sell something,

Craig Garber
