What Airlines And Pure Cocaine Have In Common

Dear Friend,

Just got up here to Cleveland on a rather uneventful flight.  And considering I had about 4 hours sleep the night before, uneventful is "good" in my book.

Why only four hours?  Well, as I told my son Nick -- bluntly, you don't get to be the "KING" of copy by sleping 8 hours a day and lying out in the sun working on your tan for a few other hours.  And as often as I TALK about bass-fishing, I don't do it NEARLY as much as I'd like.

But... when I can, I DO make it a point to go out of my way and enjoy the fruits of my success.  See, one of the most frustrating and self-sabotaging problems holding people back, is fear of success.  I spend a fair amount of time talking about this with the members of my coaching and mentoring groups, but unless you're prepared to get out of your comfort zone on this one, the financial windfall you're hoping for, will always be out of arm's reach, no matter how hard you're working.

Last week, one of my Maverick Marketers - http://www.kingofcopy.com/maverickmarketer - asked me a question about this.  He said he'd already read The New Science Of Getting Rich - http://www.kingofcopy.com/science - as well as a few other good books I'd recommended to help him, but he still needed more information to overcome some scarcity programming issues he'd had imbedded into his head as a kid.

My response went something like this "You are already financially successful, and you are about as "book smart" on this issue as you're going to get. You no longer need to learn from books, you need to learn from ACTIONS.  Start living like a rich man, and then come back and tell me what you discovered about yourself.  I think you'll uncover quite a lot."

Look, I had a difficult childhood, raised in an apartment project by two people who weren't successful, and had little self-esteem.  And of course, they passed those messages on to me.  And one thing I can tell you about this "scarcity" programming, is that if you REALLY are committed to conquering it, to "overcoming" your fear of success, and to LIVING successfully, then believe me, you CAN kick this fear, right on it's ass.

But it's going to take ACTION -- not philosophy... not imagination... and a hell of a lot more than "wishing" and "hoping" -- to do it. The same action you need to lose weight, get in shape, and catch bass, is the same action that's going to get you past this, as well.

Along those lines, let me give you a few options to choose from -- a few simple actions you can start taking, to get the ball rolling on this stuff, in a BIG way.

For starters, fly first class.  Yes, I know it costs a small fortune, but this is what successful people do.  You sit up front and enjoy your flight and you're not sitting there wriggling around like a kitten stuffed in a shoe-box.  I'm telling you, it's a GREAT experience.  And it's as addictive as cocaine.  In fact, that might even be a good USP for first class flying:

"First Class: Cocaine Of The Airwaves!"

Do it once, and you'll be hooked.  You won't ever fly coach again.

Here's another thing you can do: Park valet -- always.  And then tip the valet more than one measly dollar.  In fact, tip everybody at LEAST 2 to 3 times as much as you normally would.  These are good "vibes" you're putting out there, and they will all come back to you many many times over.

And don't foolishly think I mean they'll come back to you first thing tomorrow morning or something, but no good deed goes unrewarded.

Plus, the extra few dollars you're going to give away, means a LOT more to the people who rely on those tips, than it does to you.  Believe me, I know.  One summer I drove a cab all over the Bronx, and I was VERY grateful when someone went overboard for me, tip-wise, even a little bit.

Another thing you need to do, is to indulge yourself every once-in-a-while.  Be passionate about something, and then enjoy your passion.  Maybe you enjoy wine and you normally buy $20 dollar bottles of wine -- but every now-and-again, go out and splurge on yourself and spend $100 or $200 dollars on a good bottle of wine instead as a treat, and in general, upgrade your minimum bottle to the $50 dollar range from now on.   Look, there's a reason why I charge a small fortune to write sales copy -- it's because in life you really DO get what you pay for, so treat yourself right.

Don't wait until it's too late and do like most people do: wind up spending all your money on health care in the last 5 years of your life.  You do have a choice, as my friend and client Jim Canale says.  It really IS all just choices.

Me, I like a good cigar.  What's your indulgence?  Tell me what you do to enjoy your success and I'd love to publish it in next month's Seductive Selling newsletter, which you can test-drive for free, right here:  http://www.kingofcopy.com/ssnl

Now go sell something,
