Which Of These Voices Would You Use?

Dear Friend,

Make sure you don't skip over today's P.S.  It's something that will benefit you forever.

Yesterday I told you I'd reveal who wrote the seminar sales letter, and the answer is...

I did it!

I wrote the sales letter for the Information Marketing Expo U.K. event that Neil Stafford and I are putting on in October in London.  Here's all the information about the seminar, along with the sales letter:  http://www.kingofcopy.com/informationmarketingexpo/index.html

Writing a sales letter in someone else's voice is another technique that's often used.  Yesteday I talked about writing the letter in your own voice, and in this case, even though Neil is a part of the duo hosting the event, the fact that he is "covering" both of us, actually gives it more credibility, which is critical to your pitch.

Why, in this particular situation, did I use Neil's voice rather than mine?

Actually there were a few considerations here:

  1. Neil is the real "host" here.  Even though I'm hosting the event with him, 90% of his list members live in the U.K., but only 10% of mine do.  So in reality, more people at the event will "know" him from prior experience, than will know me.  Basically, it's a familiarity (and therefore a trust) factor.
  1. Bluntly, Neil has more subscribers than I do.  So, you want to write to your audience.
  1. And lastly, I knew I could cover my subscribers and keep our familiarity and their trust with me, by including the lead-in headline for them.  That headline says, "If you are a Craig Garber and kingofcopy.com subscriber, client, friend, or fan, then you simply MUST read this URGENT message!"

Make sense?

By the way, this event will be outstanding.

If you "know" me at all... and you have any "sense" of my character, then you already know you're going to get much more than the investment you'll have to make, to attend.

And the good news is, Neil Stafford has the same kind of work ethic I do.

Tomorrow I'll talk about another voice you can write your sales copy in, and when you'd want to use it.

Now go sell something,

Craig Garber

P.S. I have been getting dozens of comments in, about the sales letter I wrote for my seminar in London on October 1st and 2nd.  There are literally hundreds of marketing and sales copy lessons, tucked away in that letter.  So what I'd like to offer you, is this:  Go through that letter and send me any questions about it you'd like me to answer, and over the next few days... I'll answer as many of them that make sense.  Again, that letter is located here:  http://www.kingofcopy.com/informationmarketingexpo.

This is a good opportunity for you to learn from a real-life example, so send those questions to me at this address, this way you can make sure I've received them.  Send them to me at... expo @ kingofcopy.com

Any comments?

Send them to me by scooting over to the contact form on my "Here's How To Contact Craig" page, and maybe I'll publish them -- I appreciate your feedback!
