Watch Your Weight, Porky.
Dear Friend,
Because revenues have been dropping lower and lower due to increased competition, and with expenses increasing -- most notably from fuel costs -- believe it or not, the airlines have started charging "add-on" fees if you're carrying too much weight on you.
Too much weight in your bags that is.
That's right. If an individual bag weighs too much -- BAM! They whack your cred.it card for $25 bucks.
If you're over the "two-bag" limit -- BAM! They're going to whack your card for a slightly more painful $80 bucks.
For years the airlines overlooked these rules the same way most policemen overlook the laws against jaywalking. Why the sudden change?
Well, according to David M. Rowell, publisher of The Travel Insider, "The crackdown on checked bags represents the airlines recognition that there was a revenue opportoonity lying untouched. In the good old days, the weight limits were high and airlines routinely ignored them. Now they are lower and airlines police them vigorously."
Have you been leaving money on the table in your business, the same way?
If you're not sure, you're in luck. Because one of the things Neil Stafford and I will be discussing at our Information Marketing Expo in London on October 1st and 2nd -- http://www.kingofcopy.com/informationmarketingexpo -- is what kind of back-end information products you can use, to quickly and easily boost your revenues.
For example, friends of ours are starting up a gymnastics school for girls. The owner of the school is a nationally recognized trainer from England.
I told them they need to make DVD's of certain routines, performed by the head of the school herself, and then by a variety of the students, and sell them.
After all, the parents of the children who are attending the school want their children to execute each movement as perfectly as possibly -- especially the parents who are super-competitive.
These DVD's will cost about a dollar to make, and can easily sell for $29.95 each. Toss in a written instruction manual along with the DVD, and you've got a "system" you can now sell for (easily) $49.95.
The options on products like this are endless here.
My friend's reaction to this was "Holy crap, that's a goldmine! I never would have thought of that in a million years!"
No kidding, that's why he was asking ME for advice.
But seriously, you may think you're in one "business", but the truth is, nearly every single business in the world can be expanded to sell information products.
And once you're selling information products, you'll quickly come to the conclusion that you will never ever have to "work like a dog" just to earn a dollar (or a pound) ever again.
Funny, when I coached my kids in soccer, maybe I was totally "out of it", but I wasn't too competitive. They were 5 years old and I was more concerned with them all running in the right direction.
But what do I know?
Now go sell something,
