The Smoker You Drink, The Player You Get

Dear Friend,

These guys REALLY get marketing.  They understand the essence of what to do when you're trying to sell, and that is, to tap into your prospects strongest wants.

Here's what I mean:  There are a lot of goods and services out there that are VERY mundane.  Some, even insulting to an outsider.

Take cigarettes for example.  It's hard to glamourize and beef up a cigarette marketing campaign, and for the most part, outside of the Marlboro Man (who's long since rode his last horse into the desert plains sunset) and maybe Joe Camel, there really hasn't been too many menorable cigarette campaigns out there in a long time.

But see, you're forgetting something.  If you're a non-smoker, cigarettes are boring.

If you're a die-hard smoker though, you have a LOT more enthusiasm about cigarettes and smoking than non-smokers, the same way people who chew tobacco are a lot more enthusiastic about snuff, than non-chewers, and the same way people who sky-dive are a LOT more excited about this than people who are scared of heights, right?

Well, a cigarette manufacturing company out of Ireland called Major, understands this.

In fact, they understand this better than any other cigarette company I've ever seen.

Their "extra sized" butts have "extra flavor" packed into 'em, and their health warning says "Smokers Die Younger."  Sheesh, that's brilliant.

It almost sounds like some kind of a Harley Davidson roar of sorts, and I'd imagine, for the die-hards who smoke Majors, it is.
