Here's The Biggest Stumbling Block You'll Have To Overcome In Your Marketing.
Dear Friend,
In yesterday's tip, I revealed 5 different reasons why the letter I sent out early on in my career, received little to no attention. (Go check it out here to see what I'm talking about, in case you missed it: http://www.kingofcopy.com/tips/5_things_that_went_wrong_082205.html
There is one HUGE reason however, why this promotion bombed... and even if you had all the best sales copy in the world on your side and all the tea in China in your back pockets, it wouldn't have mattered.
Do you know what that reason is?
Yes...? No...?
It's a simple answer but one that is usually overlooked by most people.
Give up?
O.K. I'll tell you.
The one reason is...
Because This Prospect Was Not Invited To Participate In This Offer!
Here's what I mean.
The unfortunate reality of life, is that oftentimes... the prospects who need your help the most, are the furthest removed from wanting it.
Crazy people don't want therapy... poor dressers don't want to wear nice clothes... people with bad teeth don't want to go to the dentist, and so forth...
And Business-Owners Who Don't Know Diddley About Marketing...
Rarely Want To Learn About It!
Get it?
You see, the one HUGE flaw in my own marketing plan earlier on in my career, was... just because these advertisers were obviously running bad ads that weren't doing anything, I wrongfully assumed they knew there was a "better way"... that they were ready to go out and find it... and that they would want my help "fixing" this problem.
Plus, I chased them down, which is almost always a bad way to start a business relationship, and a near-impossible way to get the upper hand when it comes to positioning.
Am I making any sense here?
I hope so.
Tomorrow we'll wrap this one up and I'll tell you how I should have approached this situation -- perhaps it will help you in your own marketing. (Assuming you want help, that is...)
Now go sell something,
