Moomba-Wiggle
Dear Friend,
Don't forget to sign up for my FREE "How To AT LEAST Triple The Response Rates Of Your Display Advertisements!" tele-seminar next Thursday, June 1st. I'm giving away well over $10,000 Dollars in actual ads I've written so you do NOT want to miss it. You can sign up for it right here: http://www.mediabids.com/landing/seminar/AdvLandingTeleseminar.html
Last night after dinner, I decided to relax for a bit. It was still daylight and it was nice and cool out back, plus... I'd just received a fresh new box of El Rey Del Mundo cigars in the mail from JR Cigars, and I figured this was as good a time as any, to fire one of those bad-boys up.
So I sat down with a book, and just relaxed, staring out over the lake.
Someone who lives just off the north side of the lake, on a small canal, had apparently gotten a beautiful new boat. I'm not much into these boats -- they're for wakeboarding -- but I think it's called a Moomba.
They kept going around and around the lake, pretty fast actually, having a good old time. They even have some VERY powerful lights on this boat, so you can do this long into the darkness.
You know, one of the biggest reasons why people don't sell anywhere NEARLY as effectively, is because you don't believe in what you sell. Instead of moving UP the ladder, they wind up going around and around their business, just like that Moomba was.
I saw this all the time when I was selling life insurance. A guy'd be struggling and when I'd ask him if he owned life insurance, there'd always be one excuse or another -- he's strapped right now... his wife said "No" (yeah, right -- when's the last time a widow said "My husband left me too much money when he died.")... or he'll "get to it after the next commission cycle."
Lots of people I deal with are involved in marketing, or in selling marketing advice. And yet, if you ask them whether or not they spend any money on growing their own knowledge base, or improving their own marketing skills, the typical answer is "No, I'm on a tight budget now."
These are usually the same people who e-mail me questions, looking for free advice, free knowlegde, free wisdom.
Well, let me tell you something: I've invested a fortune in the knowledge and wisdom I have, not to mention all the battle scars, bumps, bruises and scraped knees that come with the struggle along the way.
You know, where I grew up in the Bronx, the people there have no money either. No money, that is, for things to make their own lives better. They have LOADS of money for things like beer, cigarettes, weed, pit-bulls and dobermans, and big-screen TV's, and they'll freely brag to you about it as well.
So when people tell you they have "no money" for your services, chances are, they just aren't willing to invest in themselves and they're looking for "short cuts". And in this case, you move on to the next prospect. "Next" should become a valuable mantra to you if you're trying to grow, as an entrepreneur and as a person.
And one thing I can tell you about marketing, and about life, is that there DEFINITELY are a lot of short-cuts you can take, to spare you pain, stress, and financial anxiety, but one thing's for damn sure, is that when it comes to short-cuts, there really is no free lunch.
