Love, Passion.  Or Lust?

Dear Friend,

You know the difference between love and passion?

Passion is when you look at a woman (or whatever it is that floats your boat "down there") and all you see is pristine sensual and emotional beauty.  No wrinkles, no imperfections, no negatives at all.

Love, on the other hand, is when you look at a woman and see all the wrinkles alongside all that wonderful inner and outer beauty, and yet you STILL feel the same amount of passion you felt, before you saw the imperfections.

Make sense?

So inherent in thrse definitions, is the fact that you simply "can't" fall in love right away, even though you may "think" you are.  You know, the proverbial "love at first sight", or... "instant karma" as John Lennon said.

And the other thing you can't do right away, is sit down and write a piece of sales copy by starting off thinking to yourself, "How Can I Sell This Darn Thing?"

What you SHOULD be thinking, that will give you a much better answer, is "How can I start this relationship?"

And here's why:  See the first question, "How can I sell this darned thing?", is ME-oriented.  You're busy thinking about what YOU can do to help yourself and your own needs.

But if you TRULY want to form a relationship with your prospects, you should be thinking about what you could do for THEM, not what they can do for YOU.

And that's why you want to ask yourself that second question, about how can you start up a new relationship.  Because the answer to this question is geared only towards helping your prospects and clients, and THAT'S where the money is.

Right?

You want to be thinking "What's the best way to start this relationship so they KNOW I can give them what they want most, and... how can I position this deal so they give me as much money as possible for it."

And by "position this deal", I mean using effective marketing to package an irresistable offer together, and then using compelling sales copy to communicate all this stuff.

And that's it.

When you break it down like this, selling's easy, right?

Oh, I forgot to tell you what lust is.

Lust, is passion... a few margaritas... and a short fuse... all mixed together.

BAM!  Add that to your salad Emeril.

Next week I'll be announcing my new coaching program, the Maverick Marketers Coaching Club.  And in the meantime, while you're busy chomping on your fingernails waiting for that announcement, go out and splurge on yourself and buy the new Audioslave DVD called "Live In Cuba."

You can thank me for this, later.

See you next time.  Be there, aloha.

Now go sell something,
