Gosh, sometimes I almost wish I didn't get so many good testimonials. I just don't know how to respond to them. Do I call up and say "thanks"... or do I just say "of course I'm a stud". What's the best way to handle this? Heck, I don't know, I'm just making my way through this crazy world like everyone else. Dodging bullets and putting out fires just like you.

Listen, I've been SO dead-broke to the point where I couldn't even afford to pay attention. I remember walking through the mall and simply feeling sick inside that I was working like a dog and had absolutely nothing to show for it. Meanwhile, people were buying $200 dollar sneakers all around me!
When Anne and I first started dating, I'd just started in a new job as a financial planner. I was paying child support, day care, health insurance, lawyer's bills, and LOADS of other "fees" and I literally would walk into a meeting with a prospect to solicit thousands of dollars from them, and meanwhile, I'd have 2, one-dollar bills inside my right-hand suit-pocket!
NOTHING felt worse than this, as far as lowering your self-esteem as a man, and as the leader of my household -- especially since I'm a working machine. But at the time, I just didn't know how to "attract" business. I was a blind man walking around in financial darkness.
And like I tell my son, the truth is, when you've got a fistful of cash inside your pocket, you feel a hell of a lot better about yourself and about what's going on in your life.
People who say money can't buy you happiness are usually broke. Because it can by you a LOT of happiness. Taking my kids out on our boat tubing on Sundays makes me THRILLED. Smoking a nice cigar is VERY rewarding. Working out at the gym feels WONDERFUL. Reality is, you can't do any of those things with "dreams". I can't go to my Publix and buy groceries with "hopes".
At least not here in sleepy old Lutz, anyway.
