Death Don't Have No Mercy

Dear Friend,

A recent post to a popular entreprenurial forum said this "One thing I am worried about is showing desperation to do business with him and I end up giving up too much, considering he is an experienced businessman and I am a newcomer."

Listen, this comment literally represents EVERYTHING when it comes to your success -- meaning, your attitude about where you stand versus where you "deserve" to stand, and where you feel you "should" stand will make or break you, and will either swiftly bring you the riches you deserve or stuff you full of enough strife and anxiety to choke the life out of 10 men, if you aren't watching what's going on up inside your head.

Remember, the only thing stopping you is YOU.

The only one "deciding" what you deserve is YOU.

And the only one in control and responsible for sorting this whole mess out inside your head is YOU.

Your experience level and how much you "deserve" to make are mutually exclusive issues, unless YOU choose them to be related.

If you have an "I've got to pay my dues" mentality, then you'll pay them alright -- in fact you're very likely to pay MORE than your fair share.

If you think "let me leapfrog ahead of the pack" -- you'll pay some dues, but you'll also scamper up the ladder of success a lot quicker, as opposed to crawling up one rung at a time and hanging on for dear life with each next step up.

Believe me, I've been on both sides of the coin, and once I "got it" that all the obstacles to success were lodged inside my own head, and once I started making a HUGE effort to get my mind-set right, everything else fell into place as well.

We all pay dues, regardless of what we're after.  What matters most is what your sites are aimed at while you're paying those dues -- what are you shooting for in the first place?

Always be thinking...

What Do You REALLY Want Out Of Each Step You Take?

And then PLAN out the steps you need to take, to get where you want to go in the fastest and most deliberate way possible.

Don't worry about the obstacles -- they'll come, but you'll react quickly and swiftly to them, for sure -- you've been doing that all your life, right?

Besides, you never know what they're going to be anyway -- after all, you never get hit by the bus you saw coming, true?

If the person in this post positions himself as the only supplier of a breakthrough product -- which, although I don't have all the facts, in this case, sounds like the truth -- the cards are all stacked in his favor.

And in that case, he should be making his potential vendor qualify by finding out why he should even consider working with him, instead of some of the larger and more established distributors.

See how the tide shifts then?

Remember, if you act like a lamb, the wolfs will come circling around.

There's an old song called "Death Don't Have No Mercy", originally done by Hot Tuna, and then later by the Grateful Dead.

Well, guess what?

Business death doesn't have any mercy either.

But most times, whether you admit it or not, the choice is yours which way things go.

Now go sell something,
