Busted!

Dear Friend,

Call it nerve... call it chutzpah... or call it gall.

Call it whatever you want.

I say these guys have some balls though.

What am I talking about?

Well for starters, I have some late-breaking news I just had to get off my chest (before I explode, of course).

Let me ask you this: Would you pay your hard-earned dollars for marketing advice to someone who...

Steals their own marketing from someone else?

Because that's what the people who own this site are doing:  it's called http://www.y2marketing-review.com/, and in case they pull down their website by the time you read this, I've got a picture of their home page right here for you to look at.

If you click on this picture of their website, you can download a pdf file of it, just in case you can't see it clearly enough.

Now here's one of my own home page sites I've been testing for quite some time now.  Again, click on the picture and download it, if you want.

What's really funny though, is... if you go to their web site, and you click on the bottom of the site, where it says "To read our privacy policy, click here.", and you actually put your mouse over the word "here", (where I've circled it in red in the picture above, and in the pdf file you can download), you'll see...

They've actually included the link to MY kingofcopy.com privacy policy!

It's true!

These guys are so dumb they were even too lazy to wipe out my link.  You'll go to http://www.kingofcopy.com/privacy.html -- which is my privacy policy -- if you click on the word "here"!

Can you believe this?

You'll also notice, these pillars of honesty didn't just "adapt" my headline... my style... and my presentation... but they even stole the title of my report!

This is especially entertaining when you consider the entire premise of their site is how you're getting ripped off when you sign up with Y2K (whatever that is), and how they can show you to how to make money "honestly".

I did some searching around the web, and I was able to find out who runs this site -- in spite of the fact they are using Domains By Proxy (a confidential domain name registration service) to protect their privacy.

And once I found out who runs this site -- this person happens to live in California -- let's just say...

I wasn't surprised by their lack of ethics!

Anyway, know that being a good copywriter means being able to take a good idea and modify it for your needs.

It doesn't mean to ripping off entire pieces to create your marketing plans.

Here's a copy of the e-mail I sent to these people:

Dear friend,

My name is Craig Garber and I own this site:

http://www.kingofcopy.com.

Ironically, am a copywriter.

And apparently as you well know, a damn good one.

Does my site look familiar?

It should, because...

The copy and the presentation is so darn good, you have literally stolen a good portion of it to put on your site here:

http://www.y2marketing-review.com/

And not only are you a thief, you're also not very bright.

Here's why:  If you go to the very bottom of your site, where it says "To read our privacy policy, click here.", and you actually put your mouse over the word "here", you'll see...

You're actually linking to MY privacy policy at http://www.kingofcopy.com/privacy.htm!

That's not very clever, is it?

Since plagiarism is illegal, I've "cc'd" my lawyer on this message (As you can see!).

Please remove ALL of my sales copy on your site.

Since you've stolen the title of my report I give to my subscribers, please also have the courtesy to stop distributing any parts of the report that have been plagiarized as well.

And lastly, remove my link and any reference to me, from your site and from any other information you may have -- both online or offline.

THAT... is a "no-no".

Please make sure all this is handled immediately.

Thanks, Craig Garber

I'll let you know if they answer me back, and what else goes on.

Now go sell something,

Craig Garber
