The bad news is, digging through your prospects cluttered minds to try and figure out what their emotional buy-buttons are, is about as easy as digging through the proverbial “haystack” to find your missing needle! It’s hard to figure out where to start, and it’s even harder to know when to stop.

See, one thing I understood, was people. I’d grown up on the streets of New York City, so I already had a fast education in “pay close attention to what’s going on, or else...” not to mention, frankly... my gut instincts HAD to be good to survive the absurd nut-house I grew up in -- but that’s another story for another day.

So I completely buried myself in the study of direct-response marketing, and over that first year I spent conservatively 2,000 hours digging as deep as I could.
I’d read books, listen to tapes and CD’s and stay awake all night writing sales copy until 3 or 4 o’clock in the morning, and then I’d be back up at 7 or 8 o’clock the next morning, and head back to my office where I ran my financial planning and insurance business. Looking back, I don’t know how I managed to do this for so long, but it’s paid off in spades, because here’s what happened: Once I nailed this stuff down, for the very first time in my life I didn’t have to worry about money or getting new business, because I came to understand exactly how to “attract” prospects instead... and how this gives you a LOT more leverage and better positioning with your customers and clients, letting you easily charge a LOT more money for your services.
I was what you’d call a “natural”. This stuff stuck to me like white on rice, and it fit me like a warm cozy glove.
