Pop culture part 2: Who said that?

I cannot tell you how wonderful my Mastermind group meeting went yesterday. Most of the people in the room are continuing to make dramatic financial improvements, and they are also making “chasing the demons away” breakthroughs as well.

This is when life starts getting good. Believe me, I’ve been on both sides of this coin and you sleep a lot more peacefully at night once you’ve passed through the point where these guys are.

I need to get back to my meeting today, and so I wanted to just quickly give you the answers to yesterday’s movie lines. See how many you got right, and have a great weekend.

** Alec Baldwin did a great job as the sales trainer in 1992’s Glengarry Glen Ross, when he instructed the poor bastards who couldn’t even sell money to broke people to:

“A, B, C. A, Always. B, Be. C, Closing. Always be closing, always be closing.”

**Who can forget Arnold Schwarzenegger’s famous line in 1991’s Terminator 2: Judgement Day? Hard to believe this movie is 17 years old, isn’t it?:

“Hasta la vista, baby.”

**In 1987’s Wall Street, Michael Douglas was king of the world — at least for a little while — when he said:

“Greed, for lack of a better word, is good. Greed is right. Greed works.”

**The one and only Jack Nicholson told Tom Cruise:

“You want the truth? You can’t handle the truth”… in 1992’s A Few Good Men, and perhaps… Jack was right.

**Remember Pat Morita as Arnold from Happy Days? He went on to further notoriety as Mr. Miyagi, the mystical martial arts teacher of Ralph Macchio in The Karate Kid, and said:

“Wax on… wax off.”

**One of my all-time favorite actors, Clint Eastwood, said this line in 1971’s Dirty Harry. I remember watching Inspector Callahan shoot all the bad guys down with his .45 caliber magnum, as I sat there in the Co-Op City Cinema in the Bronx, back when I was 8 years old:

“You’ve got to ask yourself one question: Do I feel lucky? Well, do ya, punk?”

**I have no idea why I wanted her to see this movie with me, but it was very important for me to watch this movie with my wife once we started dating seriously. When Dustin Hoffman told this classic line to Anne Bancroft back in 1967, this was cutting-edge stuff. Oh, by the way, that first date I had with my wife was 15 years ago tomorrow.

“Mrs. Robinson, you’re trying to seduce me.”

Hopefully you enjoyed this and I’ll see you next week with some more deep thoughts.

Now go sell something, Craig Garber
