cool and unusually creative Halloween photo

I turn 47 today so I’m taking it easy.

and overall, i’m still young.  i weigh 190 and this morning in the gym I bench pressed 2 sets of 205 for reps, another 2 sets of 195 for reps.  all in all, not too bad, right?

after the gym, i spent a little time writing this month’s Seductive Selling Newsletter, and by the time you’re reading this, I’ll be sitting outside reading some Charles Bukowski, with a good cigar and some coffee.

then, knock off early and spend time with my family, and of course, dinner out tonight and probably a Manhattan, or a martini or some kind of drink if I’m in the mood.

i’m not much for making a big ordeal over birthdays — especially my own — but as I’ve gotten older I’ve learned to at least acknowledge myself and take some time to do something which I wouldn’t ordinarily do.

in my case this typically involves using my time for something I like, more so than actually buying stuff, or “thinging” myself to death.  i’m pretty fortunate in that I don’t really want for much, and if i do want something – within reason – i’m usually just able to buy it without any rigmarole.

that’s why for me, spending some time with a friend in a good conversation… or reading out back on my dock in the beautiful Tampa sunshine… or taking my daughter for a walk down the block with the dogs… working out with one of my sons… or going to lunch with my wife, are some of the best gifts I could give myself

that’s really the kind of stuff i like doing, when it comes down to it.  call it simple or call it boring even, but it works for me.

anyway, enough of what I like.  here’s something really cool.  my daughter is very creative, and so when it came time to choose her Halloween costume, there’s no way she was going to run down to the store and get something conventional.  instead, she made her own costume, and she actually won an award for it in school: Most Creative

here’s what she was for Halloween.  and “Yes,” she does look like her mom, THANK goodness.

Sam at Halloween
